Dr. Robert R. Lawrence
Campaign Chairman
Fabian Calvo Campaign
July 7th saw Florida House District 45 candidate
Fabian Calvo speaking at the Pasco County Young
Republicans Professionals club meeting at Beef
O'Bradys in Land O' Lakes. Mr. Calvo did not dwell
on his campaign but spoke convincingly of the need
of Americans to take our country back by taking
personal responsibility, getting educated about the
Constitution and the way politics is supposed to
work and the "urgency of now." The urgency of now
concept is a clarion call for conservatives to get
politically active, check out the voting record of
current politicians and get involved supporting
candidates who put Constitutional foundations first.
He recommended buying and reading "The 5,000 Year
Leap" as a great beginning to really understanding
what is happening to our country.
Calvo referred to President Obama as a
philosophical Marxist who is dedicated to turning
the USA into a big government controlled socialist
society. A second American Revolution is needed;
not one with guns, but with ideas and politically
intelligent voters who can turn America back to the
Founding Father's dream of a great nation.
Applause rang throughout the room at the close of
the address. Favorable comments circulated the room
in a general consensus that political conservatives
need to get to work now. Fabian Calvo is a talk
radio host. The Fabian Calvo show can be listened
to online or daily at 3:00pm Monday--Friday, 1340

Pasco County Commissioner Ted Schrader won a
surprisingly easy victory Tuesday after weathering
weeks of attacks from challenger John Nicolette.
In a contest between two Beacon Woods
residents for the District 5 GOP primary, Mariano
had nearly 60 percent of the vote against Jenkins.
Hildebrand easily won her GOP primary in
District 3 to move a step closer to a seventh term.
She had nearly 62 percent of the vote against former
insurance activist Wil Nickerson and electrician
Matt Matey.
Bunting wins
local Republican Party Chairman
and State
Committeeman Position
Bill Bunting staved off a mutiny Tuesday
from opponents who tried to oust him as the local
Republican Party chairman. And he likely has
clinched a new post as Pasco's GOP state
committeeman.
Pasco
County Commissioner Jack Mariano was one of many Republicans politicians
to speak to the party faithful before the primary vote August 26 and ask
for their vote. The group met at Rapscallions in Land O’Lakes August 18.
A Response to Smear Letter from the
Republican Chairman Bill Bunting
The primaries will be over Tuesday
night, and we will have our Republican candidates for the
November elections. Regardless of who wins, we have to move
on and fight for Republicans in November. We also have
battles for Congressional seats and, of course, for
President that have to take a priority over any other
personal issues.
I have been trying to keep my role as
chairman of the Republican Party of Pasco separate from my
candidacy for Republican State Committeeman. Unfortunately,
recent negative mailers containing misleading and outright
false information have been sent by regular and email. These
misleading and false statements against me cast a shadow on
the Republican Party itself and, therefore, I need to
address them here. I think Republicans are due an
explanation.
Forty-nine years ago,
when I was a teenager, I got into some trouble. I was
arrested for swimming at Rockaway Beach without a bathing
suit (indecent exposure), taking some bottles of alcohol
(burglary reduced to petty larceny), and criminal mischief
(I was in my car during the ferry boat incident). The mailer
only listed the charges without the explanations and listed
the date of the newspaper article which included these
incidents. It did not include that these incidents
occurred almost a half century ago. All of this
information is from the same source but was deliberately
omitted. This flyer was sent out anonymously. There is a
recent newspaper article.
http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/local/article767218.ece.
Another mailer says I was divorced
twice, but fails to include that my third marriage to Ann
has lasted 27 years and the relationship itself has been for
over 30 years. It says something about supporting a tax
which is just not true. I did not support a tax on
intangibles. Honoring Jeb Bush’s suggestion, I supported
that further reductions in the intangible tax be delayed to
help make up for a state budget shortfall. I have
consistently fought taxes and appeared before the County
Commissioners to ask for lower taxes. I am a member of St.
Michael’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of
Columbus. We’ve lived in Pasco almost twenty years in the
same house.
I have been a Republican for
twenty-five years. I switched while living in New York. It
is typical for civil service workers to be registered
Democrats. I am retired from NYC Sanitation where I earned
an honest living. For many of those twenty years, after or
before my shifts, I also worked in my own businesses or was
employed. One of those businesses was a bar. Another
business I had two medallion taxi cabs. I also worked
selling real estate. The flyer leaves out all this other
information which is all from the same source.
Not only is there misleading or false
information against me, there is misleading information
concerning the role of a state committeeman. John Renke’s
flyer includes his “vision.”
·No tax increases – but I don't remember any time he
has ever appeared before the County Commission as I have to
fight for lower taxes
·Reduce gas prices – the State Committeeman position
is a liaison between the Republican Party of Florida and the
county Republican Party. We all want to reduce gas prices,
but this party position has nothing to do with that issue. I
can’t remember one time in the past four years when John
Renke has even made a report to the Executive Committee
about an RPOF meeting.
·Improve America’s economy – again, the State
Committeeman’s position has nothing to do with this.
·Fight Islamic Extremism – unless he is going to
become a mercenary, I don’t see how this party position will
do that.
·End Wasteful Spending – again, we all would like
that, but interestingly he caused taxpayers a lot of money
with the proceedings against him which are ongoing and his
son who was removed from being a judge – as far as I know
for the only time in Pasco history.
·Drill, build refineries, alternative energy – unless
he is going to build a platform to drill for oil, I don’t
see how this position will affect drilling.
It’s unfortunate that we have
Republicans willing to discredit the reputation and standing
of the Republican Party to promote their own
self-interests. These party positions are not governed under
the same campaign financing laws as the other elections. My
attackers can hide themselves since disclosure of campaign
contributions is not required. However, I believe there are
other laws that govern, and I am pursuing all my legal
options. You can help me by forwarding any emails you get
with either of the negative flyers.
I have served the Republican Party of
Pasco for fifteen years. I have stood at rallies, attended
meetings, moved office furniture, put up signs, and made
phone calls. I can’t remember any state committeeman coming
into the office to make phone calls. As chairman, I started
my term where there was almost no money and have raised more
than any previous chairman. We now have about $90,000 to
help Republicans in the November elections. I have led the
Republican Party through successful campaigns for governor
and President. I have never missed a meeting of the
Republican Party of Florida. I missed only about two
meetings of the Republican Party of Pasco in the fifteen
years I have been a member. I have traveled throughout the
State of Florida to work the gun shows as the Republican
Party of Florida Second Amendment Chairman. I am now also
serving as the Pasco Chairman for John McCain.
I have been recognized for my work for
the Republican Party by Governor Charlie Crist who recorded
a phone message in my support. I am endorsed by Congressman
Mike Bilirakis, Congressman Adam Putnam, Congresswoman Ginny
Brown-Waite, and Senator Victor Crist.
I am a Republican chairman you can be
proud of. I am here to serve the Republican Party. Anyone
who has seen my materials can see they are positive. The
Republican Party can recover from these nasty attacks from
within if you send a clear message that these types of
attacks are not acceptable. Otherwise, those who are
responsible for the misleading and false mailers will be
among the leadership in the Republican Party of Pasco. Bill

( WASHINGTON ,
D.C. ) – Sadly, the office of
Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite announces that
the Congresswoman’s husband of thirty years,
Harvey Waite, passed away today following a
bout with
pancreatic cancer. At the time of
his passing Harvey was surrounded by his
loved ones at their home in Brooksville ,
Florida .
Harvey
was born in
Bayshore on
Long Island , New
York on January 2, 1940. He served
in the United
States Army from 1958 to 1961, doing
part of his tour stationed overseas in Japan
. Returning to
New York after his military service,
Harvey joined the
New York State Police, where he
enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a
State Trooper.
Following his
retirement from the State, Harvey and Ginny
moved to Florida , eventually settling in
Hernando County in 1995. Active in many
local organizations, Harvey was particularly
proud of his service to St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church, his membership in the
Nature Coast
British Car Club, and the 10-13 Club of
Hernando County. Prior to his cancer
diagnosis, Harvey also worked as an
Investigator in the
Public Defenders
Office.
As an usher at
St. Anthony’s Church, Harvey was able
to continue his service to God. A lifelong
Catholic, Harvey ’s funeral service will be
held at St.
Anthony’s. Harvey was also an active
member of the
Nature Coast British Car Club. He
and Ginny would show their red 1959 MGA at
Club meetings, and Harvey would often be
seen tooling around town with the top down.
Always
described as the handsomest man on the block
wherever he lived, Harvey was a friend to
everyone he met and always had a kind word
and a quick smile. Known for being handy
with his tools, when Harvey reaches the
gates of Heaven,
St. Peter will probably say, “Welcome Harve...it
is good to finally have someone who can fix
the Gates.”
Harvey
is survived by his loving spouse, Virginia
“Ginny” Brown-Waite, sister Barbara Webber
of
North Carolina , and brother Wayne
Waite of New York . He is also survived by
their three children Danene Mitchell and her
husband Joe, Lorie Busiere and her husband
Randy, and Jeannine O’Neill, as well as
their four grandchildren Shawn Solomon,
Justin Busiere, Christopher Busiere and
Autumn Mitchell.
