Jessica Castle, a 2008 Pasco High School Graduate and future PHCC student was crowned Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28.  Liz Richards directed the event. Alexandria  Woodcock, of Centennial Middle School, was first runner-up at the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. Blake Jefferson, a student at San Antonio Elementary, was a contestant in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28. Hailey Ann Wade, of Centennial Middle School, participated in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. McKenzie Green, of Centennial Elementary was crowned Young Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28. San Antonio Elementary student Morgan Jefferson participated in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant.

Chester Taylor Elementary student Christina Shudra participated in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28.

Alicia Gupta, of Weightman Middle School, was crowned Junior Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant. Kateline Irving, of Wesley Chapel High School, was crowned the 2008 Teen Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28. Kendi Cozzo, of Weightman Middle School, was a contestant in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. Layla Gilliard, a student at Seven Oaks Elementary, was crowned Wee Miss Sparklebration at the Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28.  Liz Richards was the Pageant Director. Weightman Middle School student Nisha Gupta was a contestant in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant. Wesley Chapel High School student Tiffany Cothran was a contestant in the Miss Sparklebration Pageant held at Dan Cannon Auditorium on June 28.

“Field Day” for East Pasco Amateur Radio Society

Gloria Mouw, Vice President of the East Pasco Amateur Radio Society (EPARS) observes John Mouw, Manager of Instructional Technology at Saint Leo University, as he communicate with a fellow Ham radio operators in North Carolina at Dade City’s City Hall Annex & Emergency Operations Center, on June 28. EPARS, participated in an annual event, called “Field Day” where Ham Radio clubs compete to see how many contacts can be logged with fellow “hams”. It is the climax of the week long“ Amateur Radio Week” sponsored by the ARRL, the national association for Amateur Radio. Zephyrhills Carwash for Kibbles

On Saturday the “Vertically Challenged Car Club” and other members from the Zephyrhills community had a car wash to support a good friend, Roy Kibbler. A lifetime resident of Zephyrhills Roy Kibbler, 34, also known as Kibbles had a massive heart attack about 2 weeks ago and his health had been slowly declining over the past 2 weeks. Kibbles passed away two hours after the end of the car wash Saturday June 28. He will be remembered for being a great son, loving father, amazing friend and a very special person in a lot of people’s lives. His friends want to thank the community of Zephyrhills for all the help and support through this difficult time and to let the public know that there will be a gathering of all Kibbles family and friends at Zephyr Park on Saturday July 5, 2008 at 12:00pm. Fund raising benefit for Mike Agnello in DC

Fund-raiser for ‘Osceola’ Mike Agnello was held Sunday in Dade City

Just some of the volunteers helping out at the fund raiser for ‘Osceola’ Mike Agnello are Billy Green, Lisa Knous, Claire Agnello, Mike Agnello, Penny Morrill and Dave Morrill. A benefit concert was held June 22, at the Osceola Tavern, for Mike Agnello, a longtime Dade City resident and owner of the Osceola Tavern. Agnello recently underwent foot surgery due to complications of diabetes and is mak­ing a slow but steady recovery. Several musical groups, including Freight Train Annie, Howlin’ Buzz, Tom Scudiero, Pete Galligher, Night Flight, Rough Cut Band, Back Alley Blue, Big Wiggler and The Beagles performed on the outside stage at The Osceola Tavern. Also, Keith Fleming will be presenting his magic and comedy show.

Wesley Chapel’s Tijuana Flats General Manager, Steve Fischer, presented the money raised at the fundraiser hosted by Tijuana Flats held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 to the parents of Wesley Chapel High School students Kristin Gaskin and Tabitha Pastrana, tragically lost in a car accident. The Just in Queso Foundation donated $5,000 and together with the donations from numerous friends and community members nearly $12,000.00 was raised for the girl’s families and was presented June 21.  Along with the money, the families were presented with journals where friends had put photos and written their memories of Kristin and Tabitha. The girl’s parents released a statement to fundraiser organizer, Ruby Aran Houg that stated,  “Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. The outpouring of love has overwhelmed us.  We could have never imagined that the girls could of touched so many lives. Bailey   Comstock, a student at Stewart Middle School, and volunteer mom Amy Comstock, were out collecting money for the newly revamped Zephyrhills Pal Football league that is now called Zephyrhills Pasco Pal Football (ZPPAL) after the former ZPAL Board of Directors voted to change its league affiliation to Mid Florida Football and Cheerleading Conference (MFFCC) from Pasco Police Athletic League (PPAL).  That league now plays in Lakeland but what about the local kids whom just want to play football and cheerlead locally?  The ZPPAL is starting over and needs uniforms, equipment, and everything.  They need local businesses to step up to help their league get started so lots of local youth can play their games.  If you can help, go to www.eteamz.com/zbulldogs, or call Marsha Decena at 813-714-1465.
