Think green and recycle that tree for mulch,
County is accepting clean trees through Jan 9
If your New Year's resolution is to be a little kinder to our
planet, you can start with that Christmas tree: recycle it.
Instead of tossing the tree to the curb — where it will get
mixed up with the other garbage and shoveled into the county's
waste incinerator — you can return your tree to the earth. The
county is accepting clean trees through Jan. 9 for chipping into
mulch for use at local parks. Make sure you remove all lights,
ornaments, tinsel and hooks, then bring the tree to any of these
locations:
Land O'Lakes Community Center, 5401 U.S. 41, Land O'Lakes.
Sam W. Pasco Recreational Complex, 9835 Chancey Road,

Kiefer Village Jewels does small jobs and adjustments for customers
asking only for a donation for the Giving Tree.
Roy Hardy,
as he has done for over a dozen years, uses the foundation to take care
of special need of people at vulnerable times in their lives, like when
they lose a loved one and are stuck with large, end of life costs, that
he personally negotiates down and pays off.
Victorious Life Church reaches out into
the Community for Christmas
Victorious Life Church Children’s Pastor John Formby, Kelly Slagill
secretary for the Youth Pastor and volunteer John Young put the
final touches on some of the toys distributed by the Church this
year. Every year Victorious Life Church in Wesley Chapel provides an
outreach to children in need. It began several years ago with a
school teacher who was very involved in ministry at the church. She
began the ministry as an outreach to her class and it was called
Lin’s kids. It grew every year and she and her family coordinated
the outreach from their home with donations and finances provided
primarily by the church congregation.
This year she and her family moved out of
state but helped facilitate this ministry so that it could continue.
The project began in August, with her putting a list of toys together
and organized them by age and gender. Victorious Life Church
congregation gave financially and the church ordered over 20,000 toys,
many are smaller items ordered in bulk. They packaged them into 4 to 6
toys per package and with that had approximately 3500 packages. Teams
of people from the church congregation were organized to sort and wrap
these toys on multiple dates throughout October and November. They then
began distributing them to organizations across the community. For more
information you can contact the Church at 973-2230.
In
addition to giving toys to children for Christmas, Victorious Life
Church also gave out food packages by utilizing the vast network of
Faith based organizations in our Community. Approximately 15
organizations and ministries, including their own church-run
outreach centers, reached out into the community and provided for
needy children and families in nearby communities and within their
own church. One of those Faith based organizations is the very
successful ministry of Miss Rita Claxton-Woods (top left) of Lily of
the Valley Outreach in Wesley Chapel, seen here with volunteers and
clients who are blessed with big boxes of food adorned with her
festive Christmas bows. In an effort to raise the standard in
peoples lives and not content to simply feed the body, Miss Rita
will also feed the Soul with the message of Love and forgiveness
from Jesus Christ and the power of prayer to turn lives of despair
and depravity into lives of hope and fulfillment. She can be reached
at 862-2665.

delight that I’m able to report to our caring community that Toys
for Tots of East Pasco has met its target objective for this
holiday season. With toys still being distributed right through
Christmas Eve, our program will surpass our stated goal of providing
toys for over 4000 deserving Tots here in East and Central Pasco
County.
