Wesley Chapel Dentistry donates mouth guards to Wesley Chapel HS Football Players

Dr Zack Kalarickal, of Wesley Chapel Center for Family and Cosmetic Dentistry (on left) talks to Wesley Chapel High School Senior football player Kyle Rutkowski before he was fitted for his free custom mouth guard. Dr. Zack has generously donated the custom made guards to any of the Varsity and Junior Varsity football players at Wesley Chapel High School who call his office to get fitted for one. The custom made guards do a much better job at protecting the head and jaw against injury, as they are twice as thick and custom made to the patient. Players who would like one of the guards (which are normally priced at about $350) need to call 813-991-5100 and schedule an appointment for an impression. His oldest son is five and has severe food allergies like peanuts, tree nuts, soy to name a few and he has to carry an Epipen everywhere that he goes. His condition could be life threatening. He is a major reason that my company decided to support this charity” said Rivera.

Wesley Chapel Coastal Cleanup

Boy Scout troop 148 and hundreds of Wesley Chapel volunteers participated in the nationwide Coastal Clean up Day on Saturday, September 20. Scouting groups, families, civic groups and youth clubs were out and about helping in the effort. Site captains Michelle Barbour and Deb Hamilton handed out trash bags and instructions. Wesley Chapel groups collected a half-ton of trash last year and countywide 1,250 volunteers collected 15.25 tons of trash. Even though Wesley Chapel is not close to the coast, litter and debris finds its way into the waterways, degrading the environment and killing wildlife. The long term benefit is to help keep pollutants out of our water supply. Groups or individuals in other parts of the county may contact Pasco County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Seney at (727) 847-8041 for locations of clean ups in other parts of the county.

By Faith Jordan-Masella

Wesley Chapel Dentistry celebrated five years of service to Wesley Chapel - Island Style by treating patients to a Caribbean Night Celebration at the Seven Oaks clubhouse on June 1.

The steel drum played island melodies that set the mood as they entered the Seven Oaks clubhouse. Each guest was greeted with colorful Hawaiian flowers and a warm smile from Dr. Zacharias J. Kalarickal, DDS and his team.

May 2008 marked the five-year anniversary for Wesley Chapel Center for Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. “This event was a celebration of our patients and their continued support. It was our way of saying thank you to our patients, family, and friends for helping Wesley Chapel Dentistry grow during this half decade,” Dr. Kalarickal commented.

Guests sampled tastes of the islands created by the Jerk Hut Island Grill & Mojito Bar then played games including the Limbo. It was a close contest as guests competed for a $25 gift card to Olive Garden, with Christine Scott, of Sports + Field coming out victorious.

It was a memorable evening with is-land sights, sounds, and flavors coordinated by Full Circle Marketing Solutions and moments captured by Anne Goggans Photography. He has practiced since 1995 and is a graduate of the University of South Florida. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from Case Western Reserve University. SR 56 Expansion and The Shops of Wiregrass Ground Breaking

By Faith Jordan-Masella of OurTownFLA.com

Several people attended the Groundbreaking of State Road 56 Expansion on March 19.  The event was held near the JC Penney’s in Wesley Chapel.  Several members of the Greater Wesley Chapel of Commerce and the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce attended along with County Commissioners’ and business leaders. A rendering of what the finished product will look like was impressive.  Tenant announcements were made for The Shops At Wiregrass.  Don Porter, who owned the land where the new mall will be located spoke about a nearby road that used to be a dirt road where wagons traveled.  One advantage was that when there was a hole in the road, the driver would just get his shovel and fill the hole himself.  The land is also where Porter raised his family over 35 years.

Two minutes and 12 seconds following the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center, with it’s seven astronauts aboard, can be clearly seen as a fireball in the sky over Wesley Chapel Friday night June 8th, trailing a plume of smoke through the clouds over Pasco County. After three months of repair work from the hail storm that damaged Atlantis back in February, the launch went down like clock work. "The launch was flawless and Atlantis is safely in orbit", NASA said Friday at the post-launch press conference.

Wesley Chapel Chamber breakfast at Lexington Oaks with Pasco County’s Property Appraiser Mike Wells Dr. Judith Reese

  Click >>> Here

Dr. Judith Reese, Audiologist and owner of the J C Audiology & Hearing Aids Clinic in Lutz, asked a series of questions at the gathering of chamber members at the May 1st Wesley Chapel Chamber breakfast at the Lexington Oaks Golf Club. Wesley Chapel Chamber Executive Director Jason Wilson accepts a map of the Wesley Chapel area from Mike Wells, Pasco County’s Property Appraiser at the May 1st breakfast meeting held at the Lexington Oaks Golf Club. Pasco County’s Property Appraiser Mike Wells speaks at the May 1st breakfast meeting held by the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce at the Lexington Oaks Golf Club.

J C Audiology & Hearing Aids sponsored the May 1st breakfast, held at the Lexington Oaks Golf Club, and a large crowd of Wesley Chapel Chamber members present also heard from the guest speaker, Mike Wells, Pasco County’s Property Appraiser, who shared his insight on how his office works.

Mr. Wells reviewed his interesting career path to becoming Pasco County’s Property Appraiser. In the late 1960’s, Wells served in our armed forces as a drill instructor and part of the job description was to teach enlistees how to toss a grenade. “Back then we didn’t use ear protection and I suffer damage because of it” said Wells. In the late 1970’s, Wells coached soccer for the community league and as a member of the County Commission, put together a 21 million dollar package to build a Sports complex and Library building for Land O’Lakes and Hudson. He ran for Pasco County Property Appraiser in 1996 and hasn’t had an opponent since. He prides himself on being totally accessible to the public and on service to the people of Pasco County.

           Dr. Judith Reese, Audiologist and owner of the JC Audiology & Hearing Aids Clinic in Lutz, asked a series of questions at the gathering of chamber members at the May 1st Wesley Chapel Chamber breakfast.  The questions all related to hearing, which was appropriate for “Better Hearing & Speech Month”:  “What is worse:  a chainsaw or an iPod at peak volume?” (An iPod at peak volume is louder than a chainsaw); “Hearing loss is second only to what disease as the most common complaint of older adults?” (Arthritis is the number one complaint of older adults);

“What percent of people with hearing loss are of working age, between age 21 and 65?”(60% of people with hearing loss are of working age). Dr. Reese rewarded the chamber members who guessed correctly with ear items.  Dr. Reese also announced that during the month of May she will be conducting free hearing screenings at her clinic, 1541 Dale Mabry Hwy. Ste 201, Lutz.

Erica Bergheimer and Jonathan Berns were the proud hosts of the grand opening of LifeSource Family Chiropractic for the Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, family and friends.  The new office is located at 1722 Bruce B. Downs Blvd at the intersection of SR 56 and Bruce B. Downs Blvd in The Shoppes at New Tampa next to Office Depot.   Although they are far from their roots, Drs. Erica Bergheimer and Jonathan Berns couldn’t be happier to be in Wesley Chapel.  “We have always loved Florida”, said Dr. Bergheimer.  Both have fond memories of family vacations to Florida as children and say living here is like being on vacation everyday.  “We are honored to be one of Wesley Chapel’s newest residents and look forward to serving Wesley Chapel and the New Tampa area for many years to come,” said Dr. Berns.

Both doctors are board certified chiropractors and graduates of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, the birthplace of chiropractic.  The pair has provided chiropractic care globally, as their residency at Palmer included mission trips to Fiji and Brazil. Dr. Berns was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA.  He went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in neuroscience from the University of Illinois.  While at Illinois, he was also an offensive lineman on the University’s football team.

In addition to chiropractic services, LifeSource Family Chiropractic offers massage therapy, rehabilitation for auto injuries, and corrective spinal care. The doctors are currently accepting new patients and families.  The initial consultation is always free.  “We will let you know if we think we can help you before performing any exams or x-rays”, said Dr. Bergheimer.

In addition to being busy chiropractors, the doctors offer a series of free lectures on topics such as stress management, carpal tunnel, fibromyalgia, work place safety, and nutrition just to name a few.  They are available to speak to your club, church, school, office, or any other community organization at no charge.  They are also available to do free onsite health and scoliosis screenings at your place of business or community event.  To make an appointment or for more information call (813) 929-3700.
